El Pollo Loco, Spanish for “The Crazy Chicken,” is the leading quick-service restaurant franchise specializing in flame-grilled chicken – chicken marinated in special herbs, spices and citrus juices and served with warm tortillas and fresh salsas. El Pollo Loco truly delivers on the dining trends consumers want today: healthy food, open-fire cooking, bold flavors and the ability to customize their meals according to their particular tastes. What makes this opportunity irresistible is the strength of their numbers combined with the depth of experience within their management team.

While El Pollo Loco has been located primarily in the Southwest, the company has just started to expand nationwide. Development has already begun for a Chicago store, scheduled to open in October 2005. El Pollo Loco is set to continue its expansion and growth in the marketplace with new products and compelling marketing.

Investment Required
The fee for an El Pollo Loco franchise is $40,000.

El Pollo Loco provides the following range of investments required to open your initial franchise. The range assumes that all items are paid for in cash. To the extent that you choose to finance any of these expense items, your front-end investment could be substantially reduced.

On-Going Expenses
El Pollo Loco franchisees pay a royalty fee equal to 4% of monthly gross sales and an advertising fee equal to 4% or 5% of monthly gross revenues.

What You Get—Training and Support
Throughout the site-selection process, franchisees receive advice and assistance from experienced El Pollo Loco staff. Franchisees and their managers go through six weeks of management training that readies them to handle the aspects of operating and managing an El Pollo Loco restaurant. Refresher courses are also offered.

Corporate staff will also be on hand for the grand opening and with promotions to build a customer base. After the restaurant has opened, they will continue to visit and give guidance and assistance. Franchisees also receive an operations manual that is updated regularly.

El Pollo Loco grants exclusive territories.
